The Carbon Company leads by example with our best green business practices. We first decided to change the amount of paper that we send our clients – "remember to reduce first." Now the Carbon Company only sends the certificate and stickers through the mail. We encourage as much business to be conducted on-line as possible and only print when absolutely needed. In doing so, we are preventing trees from being harvested. Just think how many trees would still be alive and growing today if all business adopted this practice! In addition to the paper, we use only 100% recycled paper to create our certificate as well as our envelopes. Even our stickers are made from earth-friendly, corn-based polymers instead of a petroleum base. This allows them to eventually decompose whereas petroleum-based plastics last for thousands of years.
The Carbon Company goes even further. We take great pride in the fact that all of our employees are based out of home offices. The byproduct of this green change has led to many employee benefits such as flexible work schedules; money saved on commuting, lunches, dry-cleaning, and reduced stress from not having to fight traffic. These are just a few of the benefits that have helped our employees conserve energy, increase productivity, and allow for more quality family time. Through home-based offices, we are preventing about 3,120 pounds of carbon from entering the atmosphere per employee per year from driving to work.
Adopting green business practices has lowered our bottom line and enhanced the quality of living for our employees while increasing overall productivity and efficiency. The Carbon Company strongly encourages other businesses to adopt similar practices where applicable. Going green in business is not only socially responsible – it's the economic and moral choice for your business, your employees, and your environment.
